Sunday September 16

Up early for breakfast, back to pack our case, then off to the centre of Boston - Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, where stands a statue of Samuel Adams.

After a coffee we browsed around the two markets - Sunday must be a quiet day! We went into the city a bit further to find a bank so we could obtain some more cash, then went back to Quincy Market for lunch at the Salty Dog. I had a mug of Boston Clam Chowder followed by a bowl of Scallops on linguini. Sue had a Maine lobster sandwich - all very delicious.

We then walked down to the harbour. We had been told that they had cleaned it up, and it all looked very inviting. Tourist ferries were heading off, yachts were moored at the marina, a busker was singing and people of all ages were enjoying themselves.

After a coffee in the bar of the Marriott Long Wharf we walked back through Little Italy to our hotel, grabbed our bags and taxiied to the Station. The train left on time and we had a pleasant journey back to New Haven, arriving on schedule.
